Sleepless in San Diego is an event that is put on by the SD Rescue Mission as a fund raiser. They work with the homeless, needy, battered, abandoned…anyone who is in need. Whats amazing is that they’re completely funded by donations. They don’t take a penny from the government. But anyways…people get sponsored to sleep over there for an evening to raise money and awareness. I was asked to photograph this event for them….and jumped at the opportunity. Putting photography to good use for once. =P Ended up sleeping the night over there as well. really really cold. I wore 2 shirts, a long sleeve, sweatshirt and windbreaker and huddled in a sleeping bag. I have a new appreciation on how it feels to be homeless….and its totally taken me out of my comfort zone.
